Sierra Martin | Managing Editor

HAYS COUNTY — Due to the winter weather advisory and lowering temperatures around Central Texas, the San Marcos CISD and Hays County CISD have announced delayed start times.

SMCISD has announced that its campuses and offices will operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday due to weather conditions. Hays CISD start times will be delayed by three hours.

Hays CISD Communications Director Tim Savoy provided an update on what the school day will look like tomorrow due to the freezing weather conditions in the area.

“Because of the declining weather conditions, the district will now operate on a three-hour delay tomorrow morning – Thursday, February 24, 2022,” said Savoy. “This means all buses and campus start times will roll forward by three hours. Half-day early childhood programs are cancelled for the morning and afternoon sessions. And, all before school activities are cancelled. School will dismiss at the normal time tomorrow.”

San Marcos Corridor News will continue to provide updates on local weather conditions and updates as they occur.
