This year’s awards will celebrate the Main Street Program’s 31 years of growing and developing downtown San Marcos.
The San Marcos Main Street Program is calling for nominations for the 2017 Love Downtown Awards to honor downtown businesses and volunteers for their contributions to throughout the year.
Nominations are being accepted for Business of the Year, New Business of the Year and Downtown Legend of the Year.
Nominations opened at the San Marcos Chamber Business Expo and will continue to be accepted until Oct. 27, 2017. Honorees will be selected by a nomination committee and announced at the Love Downtown Awards ceremony at the Hays County Courthouse on Nov. 17, 2017.
This year’s awards will celebrate the Main Street Program’s 31 years of growing and developing downtown San Marcos. Nominees will be considered based on their ability to carry out Main Street’s vision for downtown: “To foster a downtown that is a unique and culturally vibrant destination, where local businesses thrive and people of all ages can connect, create and celebrate.”
Last year, Rio Claro Studio was honored as New Business of the Year; Stonewall Warehouse as Business of the Year; and The Price Center as Legend Business of the Year.
The Main Street Program’s Love Downtown Awards ceremony is free and open to the public. Love of community, culture and being a place for all to connect is the goal of the San Marcos Main Street Program.
