San Marcos Police have identified a man found deceased Saturday at a local convenience store.

First responders found Nawin Risal (DOB 12/12/1966) slumped over and unresponsive at the Pac n Sac Drive-in Grocery on the corner of Post and Lime Kiln Roads at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20 after a passerby saw him and called 911.

Risal, originally from Nepal, was living in Austin prior to coming to San Marcos, and police believe he had been homeless since the end of 2016.

Risal was pronounced deceased at the scene by Judge Jo Anne Prado and was transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

Police found no evidence of trauma or struggle, but are continuing to investigate Risal’s cause of death.
