Police are looking for suspects who shot a man during a burglary and aggravated robbery at an apartment in San Marcos early Thursday morning.

At approximately 12:22 a.m., San Marcos Police responded to a shots fired call at the Lodge Apartments, 1975 Aquarena Springs Drive, near Building #9 of the complex. The caller reported hearing three consecutive shots and a woman screaming.

When officers arrived, they heard screams coming from an apartment in Building number ten and saw a man lying on the floor in a pool of blood through the partially opened door. Another man was attempting to provide first aid to the victim.

Witnesses told police they were inside the apartment when there was a knock at the door and three black males, at least two of whom were armed with black handguns, entered the apartment and told everyone to get on the floor.

The witnesses told police the three men approached the victim demanding drugs and money. Witnesses say that at one point during the exchange, one of the intruders fired at the victim before all three fled the apartment on foot.

The victim was struck multiple times by the gunfire and was transported to Seton Hays by EMS, where he was promptly taken into surgery. He was initially listed in critical condition but is now in stable condition after surgery.

San Marcos Police are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information on this incident are asked to call the San Marcos Police Department at 512.753.2108.
