Mandziuk Named Fulbright Scholar To Vaishnay College, India

SAN MARCOS – Roseann Mandziuk, professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Texas State University, has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program grant to teach at the M.O.P Vaishnay College for Women in Chennai, India.

Mandziuk is one of more than 1,200 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad for the 2018-2019 academic year through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement.

“I specifically requested that my placement be made at a women’s college,” Mandziuk said. “I was inspired by the missions of these women’s colleges to empower women to realize their full potential. 

“I will be affiliated with the program in communication, which offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees,” she said. “I am excited to engage in the exchange of ideas with these talented young women, and I hope to provide a bridge between my academic discipline of communication studies and the communication students and faculty in India.”
