Austin — Last week the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board announced the July 31 application deadline for the Math and Science Scholars Loan Repayment Program.
The purpose of the program is to encourage teachers, who demonstrated high academic achievement as math or science majors, to teach these subjects in Texas public schools for a period of eight years.
The first four years must be at Texas public schools that receive federal funding under Title I, Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965.
The Math and Science Scholars Loan Repayment Program has $1,287,500 available for approximately 250 awards.
Program information and application requirements are located on the Coordinating Board website under the Math and Science Scholars Loan Repayment Program. Applicants must complete, print and mail the PDF application.
