Join Mayor Daniel Guerrero at the San Marcos Public Library next Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. as the he welcomes Anita Youngberg with Pan American Health Service, Inc. (PAHS) to San Marcos.
Youngberg will discuss the organization’s work to address the problems of hunger in Pena Blanca, Honduras. Organized by Central Texas Medical Center, a number of community members have volunteered and contributed to this international effort to feed hungry children and bring health and education to under-served and remote mountain communities.
For nearly 10 years, citizens of the San Marcos community have invested time and financial resources to help the Texas-based charitable organization PAHS bring healthcare, nutritional rehab and basic education to children and families living in extreme poverty in the mountains of Honduras.
