Meadows Center To Host Book Signing For Bob Spain’s Canoeing Guide

The book signing, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. with a brief introduction from Spain and a chance to purchase signed copies of the book.

Premiere paddler and Texas Canoe Racing Hall of Famer Bob Spain will be signing copies of his new book “Bob Spain’s Canoeing Guide and Favorite Texas Paddling Trails” on Wednesday, June 6 at The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, following check-in for the 56^th Annual Texas Water Safari.

The book signing, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. with a brief introduction from Spain and a chance to purchase signed copies of the book. Both newcomers to the sport and seasoned paddlers will find Spain’s personal guide to all aspects of canoeing and detailed descriptions of his ten favorite Texas paddling trails entertaining and helpful.

Bob is a certified canoe instructor and renowned competitive paddler who helped establish the Texas Paddling Trail program. He was inducted into the Texas Canoe Racing Hall of Fame and continues to compete in canoe races in Texas and around the country, including the grueling Texas Water Safari.

Bob Spain’s Canoeing Guide and Favorite Texas Paddling Trails is the latest addition to the River Books, a series published by Texas A&M University Press and sponsored by The Meadows Center. This 23-book collection illustrates strategies and diverse approaches to river conservation and management.
