SAN MARCOS – The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University will host an Earth Day Art of the Sacred Springs Family Fun Day at Spring Lake on Saturday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
“Family Fun Days are the perfect chance for parents and grandparents to get their children outside to explore, learn and engage in a natural setting,” Education Manager Sonja Mlenar said. “It’s also a great opportunity to see what educational resources Texas State University has to offer to the San Marcos community.”
The family-friendly event will feature environmental activities, crafts and face painting. In celebration of World Fish Migration Day, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will conduct an eel demonstration activity at 11 a.m. in the Discovery Hall.
Beginning at 1 p.m., there will be a book reading of Mermaids Are Magical—You Can Be Too by author Marieta Hutchison.
