SAN MARCOS – Bobcat Volleyball has set the team’s annual Meet the Cats for 5 p.m. Monday at Strahan Coliseum. Meet the Cats is an opportunity for Texas State fans to see the 2016 edition of the Bobcats on the court running drills, playing an intrasquad scrimmage and finishing the night with introductions to the team and chances for autographs.
This year, the Bobcats welcome eight newcomers, seven of which are freshmen. Setter Tori Luckenbill transfers in from Cameron where she was a setter. Micah Dinwiddie, Camila Vecchi, Konner Wood and Mattie Adams are four freshman defensive specialists while Megan Porter, Marissa Kindred and Sara Martin are three new hitters for the Bobcats.
In addition to newcomers, fans will get to see returners Shelby Vas Matt, Lauren Kirch, Morgan Lewis, Emily Shelton, Kelsey Weynand, Madison Daigle, Erin Hoppe, Jaliyah Bolden, Jordan Kohl and Alex Silver.
The schedule for Meet the Cats is as follows:
– 5 – 5:30 p.m.: Drills
– 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.: Intrasquad Scrimmage
– 6:30 – 7 p.m.: Introductions
Light refreshments will also be served. This will be the last time for Bobcat fans to see Texas State Volleyball in action before the team’s season opener against Ohio State on Aug. 26 as part of the North Texas Challenge in Denton. The Bobcats will face North Texas and Nevada as well in that opening weekend tournament before the team’s home opener against Baylor on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
