Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – In keeping with the mermaid theme promoted by the City of San Marcos for Mermaid Week, the Hays County Arts Committee is seeking water- and nature-themed art for its next rotating exhibit at the Hays County Government Center. And mermaids are very welcome.
Artists working in all genres are invited to submit their work by August 19. The exhibit will be placed in September, following a reception at 6 p.m. September 8 at the Government Center. The art should include some element of nature, rivers, water, or mermaids.
The Cultural Arts Program of the Hays County Arts Committee presents an ongoing exhibition series at the Hays County Government Center to showcase local artistic endeavors and to encourage public dialogue, understanding and enjoyment of visual arts. The program’s goal is to present a series of exhibitions that reflect the artistic excellent and cultural diversity of Hays County and promote the County’s cultural and economic initiatives.
