Middle School Tours And Career Fair

On Friday, November 4, approximately 600 8th graders from Goodnight and Miller Middle Schools toured the San Marcos High School campus and the annual Career Fair held in the large gymnasium. Participating in the career fair were the following businesses: A+ Federal Credit Union, Embassy Suites, Goodwill Central Texas (Job Help Center), San Marcos Police Department, Honda San Marcos, US Army, MTC/Lockhart Correctional Facility, Whataburger, Greater San Marcos Partnership, Century Link, the Department of Public Safety, Transdev Services, Workforce Development, and Alligator Dental.

 

The middle school students first met in the Performing Arts Center for a brief PowerPoint presentation before splitting into groups to tour the hallways, buildings, and departments with designated guides. At the career fair, students were able to talk with business representatives about the needs and expectations for a career in the represented fields.
