Texas State To Highlight Startup Program For Women Entrepreneurship Week

SAN MARCOS – Kerry Rupp, general partner with True Wealth Ventures, will deliver the keynote address for Women Entrepreneurship Week 2018 at Texas State University.

Rupp will deliver her address, “Out Performance and Opportunities: Women Entrepreneurs and Women Investors,” at 1:15 p.m. October 19 in McCoy Hall 233. Women Entrepreneurship Week runs October 13-20. It is free and open to Texas State faculty, staff, students and guests.

Speaker sessions will be held 1-6:30 p.m. Friday, October 19, at both the San Marcos (McCoy 233) and Round Rock (Avery 256) Campuses as well as streamed live on the Texas State Entrepreneurs Facebook page.

Women Entrepreneur Week will also feature a non-academic innovation program to explore startup ideas. Founders will lead teams to launch a company during the week with support from mentors and program facilitators.

Scheduled programming includes Market Validation, 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Oct. 13; Business Development, 5:30 and 8:30 p.m., Oct. 16; Pitch Development, 5:30 and 8:30 p.m., Oct. 18; Pitch to Entrepreneurial Panel, 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Oct. 20. Advance registration is required.

Women Entrepreneurial Week is sponsored by the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce; Center for Diversity and Gender Studies; Materials Applications Research Center; Materials Science, Engineering and Commercialization Program; McCoy College of Business; Round Rock Chamber of Commerce; Service-Learning Excellence Program; and Texas State I-Corps Site for Entrepreneurship.
