Movies in Your Park Features ‘The Mighty Ducks’

The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Division will show The Mighty Ducks at Movies in Your Park at San Marcos Plaza Park (401 E. Hopkins) on June 30. Pre-movie activities begin at 7:30 p.m., and the movie starts at dark.

The remaining movies of the 2015 Movies in Your Park series include:

July 7 – Maleficent
July 14 – Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY
July 21 – Goonies
July 28 – Dolphin Tale 2

Bring your friends, family, lawn chairs, and blankets. Come out before the movie begins at 7:30 p.m. to enjoy pre-movie activities for youth sponsored by Angel Drops. Movies will begin as soon as the sun has set for the evening. Concessions will be available for purchase from the Association of Recreation Enthusiasts from Texas State University.

Graham Daly, a doctoral student at Texas State University, will have a booth set up at the concert to conduct a survey regarding how people use the San Marcos River. This survey should take about 15 minutes to complete, and all survey responses are confidential and remain anonymous. After completing the survey, participants may register for a drawing to win a cash gift card.

Daly’s study is designed to measure how all people use and value the San Marcos River. While much is known and studied about the biology, hydrology, and physical characteristics of the San Marcos River, no comprehensive study has been conducted to assess how people use the river and what they value most about it and about San Marcos in general.

The concert series is sponsored by Grande Communications, Walton Development and Management, The Hitch, and Mensor.
