MyI35 Corridor Weekly Road Construction Alerts For Friday, Oct. 6 – Friday, Oct. 13

TxDOT, My I35 and Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority’s Weekly Corridor Traffic and Road Construction Update for the IH-35 Corridor

     TxDOT knows you’ve got to get where you need to go.

While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do everything they can to minimize disruptions. TxDOT knows you’ve got to   get where you need to go.

PROJECT OVERVIEWNew braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hester’s Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts. The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.

 

• THIS WEEK’S PROJECT TRAFFIC ADVISORY • 

Closures are weather permitting.  

 

  • Northbound to southbound I-35 U-turn closed at McNeil Rd — Temporarily closed until Thursday, Oct 12

 

  • Various closures southbound I-35 between Westinghouse Rd & RM 620 Nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct 8 & Monday, Oct 9

 

  • Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between RM 620 & Westinghouse Rd. Ramps will close as needed Nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct 8 through Thursday, Oct 13

 

  • Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at US 79/Sam Bass Rd. The southbound to northbound U-turn will also close Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct 10 & Wednesday, Oct 11

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.

Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

 

• THIS WEEK’S PROJECT TRAFFIC ADVISORY •

Closures are weather permitting.

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Oltorf St & Woodward St exit — From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct 9.

 

  • Alternating closures northbound I-35 frontage road between Woodward St & Oltorf St — Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct 9 through Thursday, Oct 12.

 

  • Multiple closures northbound I-35 frontage road between Woodward St & Oltorf St — Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct 9 through Wednesday, Oct 11.

 

  • Various closures in both directions of I-35 between Woodward St & Woodland Ave. Adjacent ramps will also close — Nightly from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, Oct 9 & Tuesday, Oct 10.

PROJECT OVERVIEWWork includes adding a southbound intersection bypass lane to allow through-traffic to bypass the traffic signal, re-configuring the entrance/exit ramps, and realigning the southbound frontage road to add a new roundabout that improves traffic flow and safety. Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made within the project limits. 

 

• THIS WEEK’S PROJECT TRAFFIC ADVISORY •

Closures are weather permitting.

  • Southbound I-35 right lane closed between 51st St & Airport Blvd. Exit # 237A will also close — 9 p.m. Sunday, October 8 to 5 a.m. Monday, October 9.

I – 3 5  F R O M   S T A S S N E Y   L A N E   T O   W I L L I A M   C A N N O N   DR.   

 

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek. New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging. Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

Closures are weather permitting.

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at William Cannon Dr. The right turn to William Cannon Dr will also close — Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct 9 through Wednesday, Oct 11.

 

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between William Cannon Dr & Stassney Ln From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 11.
