TxDOT, My I35 and Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority’s Weekly Corridor Traffic and Road Construction Update for the IH-35 Corridor

     TxDOT knows you’ve got to get where you need to go.

While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do everything they can to minimize disruptions. TxDOT knows  you’ve got  to get where   you need to go.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hester’s Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts. The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.

  • Northbound to southbound I-35 U-turn closed at McNeil Rd | Temporarily closed until Thursday, Oct 12

 

  • Northbound to southbound I-35 U-turn closed at US 79/Sam Bass Rd | 9 a.m. Monday, Oct 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct 2

 

  • Southbound I-35 frontage road two right turn lanes closed at US 79/Sam Bass Rd | From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct 3

 

  • Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between RM 620 and Westinghouse Rd. Ramps will close as needed. | Nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct 1 through Thursday, Oct 5

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.

Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

  • Multiple closures northbound I-35 frontage road at Oltorf St. Right turn lane closed Sunday night. | From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct 1 through Tuesday, Oct 3

 

  • Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Woodland Avenue and Ladybird Lake. | Nightly from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct 1 through Tuesday, Oct 3

 

  • I-35 reduced to one lane in each direction at Oltorf St. The ramps to Oltorf St will also close. | Nightly from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, Oct 1 through Thursday, Oct 5

 

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Woodward St and Oltorf St. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct 2 through Friday, Oct 6

 

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Woodward St and Oltorf St. Watch for flaggers. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct 2 through Friday, Oct 6

 

  • Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Riverside Dr and 11th St. The ramp to Riverside Dr and 3rd-8th Streets will also close. | From 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 4

I – 3 5   F R O M   S T A S S N E Y   L A N E   T O   W I L L I A M   C A N N O N   D R I V E

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.

Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at William Cannon Dr. The right turn to William Cannon Dr will also close. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct 1 through Wednesday, Oct 4

 

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Slaughter Ln & William Cannon Dr. | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 4

 

  • Alternating closures in each direction of William Cannon across I-35. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct 1 through Thursday, Oct 5

PROJECT OVERVIEW | One new ramp will be added and five existing ramps will be modified between RM 150 and the Blanco River.

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Saddle Run Way and Yarrington Rd. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept 30 through Friday, Oct 6

 

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Yarrington Rd and RM 150 as needed. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct 2 through Friday, Oct 6

 

  • Northbound I-35 exit #213 for RM 150 closed as needed. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct 2 through Friday, Oct 6

 

  • Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Saddle Run Way and Yarrington Rd. | From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct 5
