National Corndog Day Coming to Downtown San Marcos

National Corndog Day Coming to Downtown San Marcos

The San Marcos Main Street Program will host National Corndog Day celebration, a free community event, on Saturday, March 21, from noon to 4 p.m. on the courthouse lawn in downtown San Marcos.

San Marcos has joined in celebrating National Corn Dog Day in conjunction with March Madness for the past 12 years. The event will feature free corndogs, tater tots and other party favors for the whole family. This year will also provide a corndog eating contest as well as a three-on-three basketball tournament. There will also be games on the courthouse square for individuals and families, and downtown businesses hosting March Madness specials will also be featured as part of this event.

National Corndog Day is the ultimate celebration of America’s love for college basketball and, of course, corndogs. Since 1992, this event has been held on the one day a year that a quadruple-header of tournament action is broadcasted live nationally. This annual celebration is a perfect opportunity for the San Marcos community to get together for a fun and exciting afternoon with friends and family, free of charge.

To sign up for the contest or tournament, or for more information, visit the Facebook event page at bit.ly/corndogday or call 512.393.8430.
