The National Weather Service of Austin and San Antonio released the following warning on Friday, August 7, 2020, at 5:06 AM
Hot temperatures with afternoon highs in the upper 90s to near 102 degrees along with humid conditions will produce maximum afternoon heat index values ranging from 104 to 109 degrees.
Heat index values should drop below 100 degrees around sunset EACH evening.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. Never leave children, disabled adults, or pets in parked vehicles.
