Need A Ride To The Polls

The Capital Area Rural Transportation System will participate along with many Texas transit providers, taxis and ride share services offering free rides to and from early voting and Election Day polls.

CARTS will be offering free rides for early voters on Tuesday, November 1 and on Election Day, November 8th to voters going to the polls.

CARTS provides transportation for the non-urbanized areas of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Travis and Williamson counties and the San Marcos urbanized area.

Its family of services includes local paratransit (Country Bus), regional intercity transportation (Interurban Coach) and municipal fixed route (THE BUS) in San Marcos and Bastrop.

Anyone in the CARTS District will be able to use one of the CARTS services to assist them in getting to the polls.

If you live in the CARTS rural service area please schedule your Country Bus ride 24 hours in advance by calling 1-512-478-RIDE (7433) and indicate your wish to travel to a polling location.

CARTS provides advance reservation, shared ride van service with its Country Bus system to thousands of Central Texas customers. Sixty mini-buses and vans operate this flexible general public, elderly and disabled paratransit service throughout the region.

On the Interurban and fixed route services just show your Voter Registration card and your fare will be waived.
