San Marcos CISD To Hold Ribbon Cutting Ceremony For New Transportation Center

Staff Reports

On Monday, March 11, the San Marcos Consolidated Independent will mark the completion of its new transportation annex with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The event will take place at 10 AM at the new Transportation Annex, is located at 185 E. De Zavala Dr.

San Marcos CISD broke ground on the project in early March 2018. The $3.8 million facility was part of the SMCISD’s $107.3 million bond passed by voters in May 2017.

The $3.8 million included the purchase of the property for the new satellite transportation center, additional buses and infrastructure and parking lots.

The district is inviting community members to join teachers, administration, trustees and students in celebration of the project.

The annex is one of several projects included in the bond package; the district has already begun the renovation process on campuses throughout the district. All projects are projected to be completed by September 2020.
