The Engineering Department of the City of San Marcos will host a second public meeting on the bicycle and pedestrian improvements planned for a portion of Old RR 12 at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E Hopkins, Room 1 on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m.
The City project engineer will make a short presentation and share results of the online survey on the project that concluded last spring. Attendees will have an opportunity to comment and ask questions at the meeting.
In 2013, City Council approved the project to enhance safety and mobility along this heavily trafficked roadway. The project will construct sidewalks on both sides of the street the entire length of the project and widen the roadway from Craddock to Holland to a 3-lane cross-section with bike lanes on both sides of the road.
Also included are water and wastewater line upgrades, and area drainage improvements that will include several bio-filtration ponds.
All interested parties are encouraged to attend. For more information please call the City of San Marcos Engineering/Capital Improvements Department at 512.393.8130.
