NerdWallet.com: Kyle as the 4th Best Small City In The Country For Families

Kyle is the 4th best small city in the country for families according to NerdWallet.com. Our affordable housing, kid-friendly activities and Kyle’s Market Days are noted as factors in the designation.

NerdWallet’s assessment reads: “Like Leander, Kyle is close to Austin, but it’s smaller and more affordable, boasting the lowest home values of our top 20 cities. Kyle is steadily growing, with a population in 2013 of about 32,000, and officials expect the city will be home to 60,000 by 2020. The city’s menu of kid-friendly activities runs the gamut from a disc golf course, to a city pool, sports leagues and summer camps. In the warmer months, on the second Saturday, folks head to Kyle Market Days, where local farmers and vendors converge in the city’s historic City Square Park with a backdrop of live music.”

Coming in ahead of Kyle were Sammamish, Washington at #1, Wylie, Texas at #2, and Leander, Texas at #3.

“Those of us that live and work here might argue that Kyle is the #1 City of any size for families, but we certainly appreciate the recognition,” stated Jerry Hendricks who works for the City of Kyle.
