The City of San Marcos will dedicate the new flagpole installed at the San Marcos Cemetery Friday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. at the San Marcos Cemetery, 1001 Old Ranch Road 12.
San Marcos resident Patty Sullivan and the Friends of the Cemetery raised $5,500 to replace the old flagpole, which was donated to the cemetery many years ago.
The new pole was purchased and installed in September by the Eagle Mountain Flag Company.
The new flagpole is 40 feet tall and has an internal halyard to raise and lower the flag. The commission hopes to have the flagpole lights installed in the near future.
The public is invited to join the Friends of the Cemetery, members of the City of San Marcos Cemetery Commission, and City staff at the dedication.
