New Pizzeria Joins Downtown San Marcos

Staff Reports

Maroni’s Pizza Kitchen has opened its doors on the Square in San Marcos.

Formerly located in Canyon Lake, Sherri Wilson and her husband, Richard, moved the business to the square due to COVID-19.

In September, the couple reached out to Scott Gregson and signed the lease for the former Jimmy John’s Location at 117 E Hopkins in October.

According to Sherri, Maroni is her husband’s birth name, which was changed after he was adopted as a baby.

“We want everyone to enjoy what people have said is some of the best pizza they’ve ever had,” Sherri said. “We make our dough fresh daily using premium ingredients and all of our toppings have been tested and tried and are the best meats, cheeses, and veggies we can procure.”

Maroni’s Pizza Kitchen offers 11-inch pizza, personalized pasta bowls, entrée salads, and a cheesecake cannoli.

The family-owned and operated old-school pizza restaurant is open six days a week, Monday thru Wednesday from 11 AM to 10 PM and Thursday thru Saturday from 11 AM to 3 AM.
