New Weekly Sunday Brunch Kicking Off With Mermaid Flair

San Marcos, TX – The Price Center’s 1st Sunday Brunch Buffet on Aug. 7 was such a resounding success its creators have decided to take it weekly beginning Sept. 11, which is also the 2nd day of Mermaid Week so the Buffet will feature mermaid-inspired menu items, including a seafood entrée and mermaid-inspired artwork on the walls of  the Tea Room.

Nearly 100 people stopped in to the Center’s Tea Room during its debut on Aug. 7 to check out the new offering. Chef Ray Abiza, formerly of Euro Café, created a buffet spread that included crepes, eggs, rustic potatoes, custom omelets, and a delicious assortment of European-inspired entrees including a seafood creole, three fresh salads, coffee, tea and juice.

“Based on reservations and our estimates, we had only expected about 40 – 50 people,” said Clay DeStefano executive director.  “Thankfully, that’s the beauty of having such an experienced chef in-house.  Chef Ray jumped in and made more of everything,” he added.

The new weekly Sunday Brunch Buffet will feature similar, but different items each week from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Cost is $14.95 per person and reservations are required.

The San Marcos Cinema Club will be hosting three separate Mermaid Week events at the Center that day, including two different documentary showings and a talk on the myths, legends and lore of Mermaids.

For more information or to make a reservation, please call (512) 392-2900 or stop by the Price Center at 222 W. San Antonio St., Mon. – Fri., 9-5 p.m.
