UPDATE: News Alert: San Marcos Police Searching For Missing Child

San Marcos Police are searching for a missing San Marcos girl last seen on Friday.

UPDATE: Kara Ryan has been found safe and has returned home. Police have no further details at this time.

Fourteen-year-old Kara Ryan was last seen when she left her home on the 200 block of Horseshoe Bend without permission Dec. 8 at about 11:06 a.m. Her parents called police Dec. 9 to report her as a runaway and to seek help finding her.

Ryan was last seen wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans, black Converse shoes, carrying a peach colored backpack with gray polka-dots on it.  She is approximately 5′ 5″ tall weighing approximately 120 pounds and has short blonde hair (“bob” cut) and greenish-gray eyes.

Ryan was also reported to have made suicidal comments to her sister within the two days prior to her disappearance. Her friends tell police that they have not seen or heard from her.
