UPDATED: A flash flood warning is in effect for Eastern Hays County until 9:30 p.m, December 7.

The National Weather Service has issued (Friday, 3:34 AM) a Flash Flood Watch and warns of local heavy rainfall possible this Friday afternoon into Saturday morning.
A cold front is slowly moving across the Interstate 35 corridor this morning and potent upper-level system moving across the area later this evening are forecast to produce locally heavy rainfall this afternoon and evening and continuing through Saturday morning.
Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches expected along and west of Highway 83, 2 to 4 inches expected east of Highway 83 and along and west of Interstate 35/Interstate 37 including both San Antonio and Austin metro areas and 4 to 6 inches expected southeast of I-35 and east of I-37.
FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON CST TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING
• From noon today, Friday, December 7, through Saturday morning, December 8.
• Rainfall amounts of 2 to 6 inches are expected to fall across the watch area including the San Antonio and Austin metropolitan areas.
• This episode of moderate to heavy rainfall could result in isolated flash flooding along area roadways, underpasses and low lying areas as well as small creeks and tributaries.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
