Woman Killed In Fatal Accident Sunday On Post Road

*Correction: This article has been updated to make it clear Sarah Marie Gee was on a motorized scooter when she struck a  1998 flatbed trailer.  Sarah was also spelled incorrectly.

A collision caused the death of a woman on Post Road Sunday evening.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating after a woman in her 30s was struck by a vehicle approximately 1.5 miles north of the San Marcos City limits.

Texas DPS said in their preliminary report, the accident occurred around 7:10 PM; Sarah Marie Gee, 31, crossed the center line on a motorized scooter into Southbound Traffic while she was traveling northbound on Post Road.

According to DPS’s preliminary report, Gee struck a 1998 flatbed trailer, which was being towed by a Dodge Ram pickup. Hays County Constable Pct. 1, David Lois Peterson, 64, has been identified as the driver of the truck.

*Peterson was off-duty at the time of the accident.

Gee was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office and San Marcos Officials said Texas DPS is investigating the accident. No arrests were made.
