OP-ED: What in the world did he just say?

By Angie Pereira

We have all heard it and I cannot imagine that we have not collectively shaken our heads in absolute confusion. Some of us keep shaking after others have stopped because that confusion trips over into a complete shock as to what is happening to our great nation.

I believe one of the lowlights of each week seems to be the compilation of videos we get to watch that spreads like wildfire across the internet. It is a montage of the incoherent scramble of words or sounds that leave Joe Biden’s mouth. It is alarming to most and ignored by others. I have no idea how anyone can watch and not wonder, “what is wrong with this man?”.

If this was a family member, most of us would be seeking medical attention for their apparent mental decline and that would be the prudent thing to do, but, when it is the president, apparently, we just let it slide.

Did you see the latest at his CNN town hall appearance? Let me give you the quote that I need some kind of decoder ring for or if someone speaks Bideneese, please translate this for me:

“And the question is whether or not we should be in a position where you, uh, um, are, why can’t they, the experts say we know that this virus is, in fact, uh, um, uh, it’s going to be, or excuse me, we, we know why all the drugs approved are not temporarily approved, but permanently approved, that’s underway, too, I expect that to occur quickly.”President Joe Biden

Now, I am good at puzzles, especially word scrambles, but, “come on, man”, this is just beyond my scope, I guess. I get being tongue-tied on occasion or having a stutter, but we are well beyond those two options as the problem we are witnessing.

This is incoherency and that was not the only one of the evening, nor of his presidency. Shoot, this has been going on since before he was even campaigning to be president (or Senator as he stated in one of his presidential campaign speeches).

Personally, I have been flabbergasted how the mainstream media selectively edits out the problematic word vomit and continues to put together compilations to try to bolster his credibility as a president and, during the election, as a viable candidate.

When you watched his speeches or debates in their entirety, it was stunning to see gobbledygook after gobbledygook utterances. I do not believe there is a president in our history who can take the prize of “Most Incoherent” away from Biden!

The shocking part is we are still watching, what appears to be, an ever-evolving decline in his mental faculties. His behaviors resembling that of a confused dementia patient rotating between utter confusion, seeking caregivers for direction and angry outbursts are not just alarming to much of the citizenry of this country, but even to those outside of our borders.

News reporters across the world are doing pieces questioning Biden’s mental capacity and one even asked, “who is actually running that (U.S.) country?”. What an absolute embarrassment!

We truly are the laughing stock of the world at this point and every time Biden opens his mouth, we hold our breath, and he lets out another reason for the world to wonder what in the hell is happening to the United States of America?

Yes, folks, this is supposed to be the leader of the free world, yet he is barely capable of stringing some words together to create a complete thought.

I can’t help but quote a magnet I saw,“How did we get here? Booze and bad decisions, that’s how we got here, my friend.”.

I completely acknowledge the bad decisions part, because that is obvious, but I sure am hoping that his supporters can at least tell us they were drinking heavily when they have watched any of his speeches or debates and that is why they did not “notice” his multitude of mental failures or as some in the media call them, gaffes.

Whatever, let’s all sober up and admit what is before us, an unfit man sitting in the Oval Office incapable of the mental prowess needed to run this nation. I get it, you hate Trump and his egotism and mean tweets and his unrefined mannerisms.

Okay, but just because of that, do we really want to continue this charade of Biden being truly fit to function as the Commander in Chief of this country? At some point, we need to be realistic and face the fact – Houston, we have a problem!

I don’t care how much you think he is a nice guy or better than Trump, are you really willing to continue to ignore his decline? In my opinion, what is happening is elder abuse. His family should be ashamed they are allowing this to continue and are not seeking the care he obviously needs.

I have no qualm in admitting I am not a fan of him, but I am genuinely concerned about his wellbeing, regardless of anything he has done, and I do believe it is not right to keep running him like this. Get him to a doctor and get him the help he needs.

And, for the legal scholars out there, I do have a question – If Biden is diagnosed with a mental ailment or disease that affects mental functioning and cognitive abilities, does that negate any orders or laws he has signed.

This is a true question, as I know if you sign anything, contracts, etc., while under the influence of anything impairing your mental function or while not within your full mental capacity, those documents are invalid, as you were not mentally sound to make the decision to sign them and commit to what they said.
