City Of Dripping Springs Welcomes New Parks, Community Services Director

The City of Dripping Springs introduced their new Parks & Community Services Director, Kelly Schmidt, on Monday, Oct. 28.

Residents may recognize Kelly as she was the city’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space Director in 2007 and 2008.

She most recently was the Parks Director for the City of Wimberly. Before then, she was the Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Director for the City of Bee Cave as well as having varied experience in Anderson Mill, Texas, and more.

Kelly has over 25 years of experience in the field and has had the opportunity to be a leader for public, private and non-profit organizations across the country and internationally.

She is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional and holds a Master’s of Science degree in Recreation and Leisure Services Administration and Management from Texas State University.

She’s held leadership roles for the YMCA (Florida & Colorado), REI (Colorado & California) and various municipalities in Colorado, California, Texas, Washington and Edinburgh, Scotland. Through these experiences, Kelly has developed a passion for improving quality of life for the communities she serves.

She is excited to be back helping Dripping Springs continue its tradition of giving our citizens wonderful spaces to exercise, play, and do other activities to improve their quality of life.
