Dripping Springs ISD parents showed their support for a Walnut Springs Elementary School transgender child.
On Monday, a petition with 500 signatures was turned in to the Dripping Springs school board in support of a 3rd grader who was born as a boy but identifies as a girl. The petiton was in response to the school board’s decision to continue to allow the child to use the girl’s restroom.
Andy Hutton, parent, said the lobbyist couldn’t pick out the child from any other third grader; however, he claimed she was a danger merely because of the bathroom she uses. According to parents, hundreds of people signed the petition over the course of only 48 hours.
