Participatory Data Drawing Workshop Coming To Price Center

San Marcos, TX – A new model of participatory drawing class will premiere via a two-part workshop at the Price Center April 26 and 29.

“Sharing Your Stories in the Digital Environment” will be offered in two, 2-hour sessions by Assistant Professor of Communication Design for Texas State’s School of Design MiHyun Kim from 2 to 4 PM in the Center’s 1910 Room. Class size is limited and a small fee is required.

The digital environment provides a unique space and platform for participants to share and visualize their stores collectively and simultaneously in real time.

Participants in this Workshop will add their stories to a collective narrative through writing, drawing or animating.

The Workshop runs through the process of conception, design, and construction with an element of play, experimentation, and collaboration. Attendees will draw their stories (data) based on prompts via wi-fi interconnected iPads.

The iPads will be projected to a large screen to show the cumulative process.

“We’re delighted to be offering another creative workshop and especially pleased to be doing so in collaboration with the University,” said Clay DeStefano, executive director.

The class is limited to no more than 12 participants. iPads are provided. Pre-registration is required along with a $25 fee. For more information, please call the Price Center directly at 512-392-2900 or stop by 222 W. San Antonio St., downtown San Marcos, Mon. – Fri., 9 AM – 5 PM.
