Party In Your Park Coming To Capt. Paul Pena Park

Party: Young residents of the Blanco Gardens neighborhood enjoyed several games of gaga ball at Conway Park’s Party in Your Park in February.

Party In Your Park Coming To Capt. Paul Pena Park

The City of San Marcos will host Party in Your Park, a family-friendly event that showcases our City’s neighborhood parks four times a year, on Friday, May 22 at 6 p.m. in Capt. Paul Pena Park, 1209 Crystal River Parkway in the Hills of Hays neighborhood.

This free event will highlight this wonderful park and give families the opportunity to enjoy a fun, safe night socializing with their neighbors.

Activities will include gaga ball, 9 Square in the Air, giant Jenga, other yard games, healthy snacks, and much more. Players from the university’s ultimate Frisbee team will be at the event teaching the basics and leading a game or two. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or folding chairs to sit on if desired.

The next Party in Your Park will be a special “Back-to-School” edition on Aug. 21, 2015 at Dunbar Park at 801 W. MLK Drive. Party in Your Park would not be possible without the support from the community and our generous sponsor Grande Communications.

Parks and Recreation is always looking for volunteers! If you are interested in helping out with this, or other events, please contact Victoria Van de Ryt, Youth Services Coordinator at 512.393.8249.
