SMTX Party In Your Park To Close Out Summer Break

Activities will include Gaga Ball, Mega Jenga, Giant Connect 4, and other yard games. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided at no cost.

The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department will host the third event of the 2017 Party in Your Park series on Friday, Aug. 25.

The event will be held at Dunbar Park, 801 Martin Luther King Drive, from 6-9 p.m. Party in Your Park is free to the public and features a variety of games, snacks, music and more.

Activities will include Gaga Ball, Mega Jenga, Giant Connect 4, and other yard games. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided at no cost. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or folding chairs to sit on if needed.

Texas State University’s Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will be on-site giving away free backpacks and school supplies to attendees.

Alpha Kappa Alpha was founded in 1908 and is committed to cultivating and encouraging high scholastic and ethical standards; to promoting unity and friendship among college women; to studying and helping alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature; and to maintaining a progressive interest in college life and to be of service to all mankind.

The Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank Grande Communications for their generous support as the “Life of the Party” sponsor of Party in Your Park. This year’s final Party in Your Park event is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 17 from 6-9 p.m. at Veterans Park, 320 Mariposa Street.
