JOHNSON CITY, Texas — Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) proudly supports education in Central Texas through its youth programs, educational foundation giving, and scholarships.
That’s why each year PEC awards $100,000 in scholarships to regional students who will attend the college, university, technical school, or trade school of their choice.
And this year, PEC has chosen to include a scholarship for a qualifying adult seeking to further their education.
“PEC has always been proud to support our young members on their educational journeys,” PEC Youth Engagement Representative Celeste Mikeska said. “And, because we understand that learning is a lifelong project, we decided to expand eligibility this year to include adults who also deserve our encouragement and support.”
Each student recipient must be a graduating senior through public, private, or home-schooled education, and the recipient’s parent or legal guardian must be a PEC member in good standing. The adult recipient must be a PEC member or reside in a household served by PEC, and in good standing.
“Being there for our members has never been more important,” Mikeska said. “We know these scholarships will help produce the leaders our communities need to thrive in the future.”
Applications are open through March 22, 2021. For more information, visit pec.coop/scholarships.
