Johnson City, Texas – As part of its ongoing commitment to youth and education, Pedernales Electric Cooperative will once again offer $100,000 in scholarships to eligible high school and home-schooled seniors in its service area. Applications for the 2018 school year are now available at pec.coop/scholarship.

“We are committed to helping our future leaders grow, and our scholarship program is one way we recognize our responsibility to support the communities we serve,” said Trista Fugate, PEC’s director of community engagement.

Scholarships will range from $2,500 to $10,000. The funds can be used to pay expenses at any accredited university, college, junior college, technical school or trade school.

Recipients will be selected based on their applications and an essay. This year’s essay prompt asks students to share how a PEC Scholarship would help them achieve their educational and career goals.

Each scholarship recipient must be at the 12th grade level through public, private or home-schooled education, and their parent or legal guardian must be a PEC member.

Applications are judged by an independent panel. All scholarship materials must be submitted online by Wednesday, March 21. Learn more at pec.coop/scholarship.
