Looking to adopt or foster animals from the local shelter? Here are the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter pets of the week!
Spread the word to help these animals find their forever homes.
Lane is an 85-pound gentle giant! You’ve never seen a coat shine so brightly as his, and when you see that face, you’ll HAVE to take him home.
He thinks riding in the car is super fun, and he even sits nicely for baths! He prefers to lie halfway off his bed, like a total goofball, and is getting really good at walking nicely on a leash.
Lane has made lots of friends at the shelter and gets very happy when he gets to run around and play with his buddies.
This 3-year-old dude would also prefer a cat-free home. Lane has been at SMRAS for 167 days but has hope that the perfect human will adopt him very soon.
.
Looking for a loyal, snuggly, entirely house-trained best friend? Look no further! Emma is a sweet girl with lots of excitement and plenty of morning snuggles to give. With Emma, you’ll get the best of both worlds; a low-key, couch snooze queen and fun play buddy!
At times you can find her chilling on the couch taking a well-deserved nap, but when it’s time for a walk or hike, Emma is all ears and ready to explore. She picks up quickly on new concepts, and knows ‘sit’, ‘stay’, and even ‘shake’!
Her favorite things in the world are belly rubs, peanut butter treats, and getting to sniff everything on walks.
She is a bit hesitant to meet new people at first, so she’d do best in a low-traffic home without other animals until she gets more confidence and training with socialization.
SMRAS has an abundance of unsocial, spicy, and working cats; Visit https://bit.ly/2Je9BzL to learn more. Please consider adopting from SMRAS and help us clear much needed kennel space.
Both pets are available for adoption at the San Marcos Regional Shelter.
All ready-to-go pets (meaning cats and dogs that have already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped) are $10 until further notice and include spay/neuter, vet exam, vaccinations, a microchip, and 30 days of free pet health insurance.
To meet their pets, please visit in person at 750 River Rd, San Marcos, open from noon – 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and from noon – 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
