The San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter has been awarded a grant for a mobile adoption trailer from their adoption partners at PetSmart Charities.
Over the course of the last 7 months, the Animal Services Team, the City of San Marcos Grants Team and Finance Team worked together to obtain a mobile adoption unit by obtaining grant funding.
The procurement of this grant was an effort by all parties, each team quickly providing and assisting the others throughout the entire process to achieve the end goal of grant.
PetSmart Adoption Charities awarded the full grant request of $35,000 for funding of a mobile adoption trailer on July 18.
“This is not the first time that the Animal Services team has requested a grant for an adoption trailer,” Animal Services Manager Kara Montiel said. “The team has previously applied for several grants, over several years, which would have supplied a mobile adoption unit without success.”
“I’m just so excited to see what doors this will open for us. Having a mobile adoption unit is something we have needed for a long time,” Animal Shelter Supervisor Erin McCann said. “It makes the adoption event possibilities even greater than before!”
After all the previous submitted grant applications, PetSmart Adoption Charities was able to give the region a mobile adoption trailer which will help these sweet animals get a Forever Happy Home. PetSmart Adoption Charities, is the real hero in this story.
