Calvocoressi is the author of the collections The Last Time I Saw Amelia Earhart, winner of the 2006 Connecticut Book Award in Poetry, and Apocalyptic Swing, which was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
San Marcos– Poet Gabrielle Calvocoressi will hold readings and book signings at Texas State University’s Wittliff Collections on Thursday, November 16, and the Katherine Ann Porter (KAP) Literary Center on Friday, November 17.
The Wittliff signing will be at 3:30 p.m. on the seventh floor of the Alkek Library. The KAP Center reading will be at 7:30 p.m. in Kyle.
Calvocoressi is the author of the collections The Last Time I Saw Amelia Earhart, winner of the 2006 Connecticut Book Award in Poetry, and Apocalyptic Swing, which was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Her awards and honors include a Stegner Fellowship, a Jones Lectureship at Stanford University and a Ronna Jaffe Women Writers’ Award. She teaches at the Master of Fine Arts programs at California College of Arts in San Francisco and at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina.
The event is sponsored by the Burdine Johnson Foundation, the Wittliff Collections, the Lindsey Reading Series and the Department of English at Texas State.
