Portion Of N. Burleson Street To Close For Road Work

Capital Excavation, the firm that is constructing the new section of Marketplace Ave., will be closing a portion of N. Burleson St. in Kyle from Oct. 10-12. The firm will be doing trench work for utilities and storm drain installation during those days.
As Monday, Oct. 12 is the Columbus Day holiday, the city of Kyle and the Hays CISD are closed that day.
Burleson St. will be closed to thru traffic between the I-35 access road and the Marketplace Ave. intersection currently under construction. Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Spring Branch Dr., which is just south of the Marketplace Ave. intersection.
Homeowners who live on the section of N. Burleson St. under construction will be able to get to and from their homes via the I-35 southbound access road, but will not be able to drive south on Burleson St. They will also not be able to access their homes from Burleson heading northbound. Alternate routes are to use I-35 northbound to loop around at Kyle Parkway or take the Spring Branch Dr. detour to FM 1626 to the I-35 southbound access road.
That section of N. Burleson St. should reopen Tuesday morning. The city will send out a follow-up notice if the schedule or other details change.
