Premier ER, Urgent Care Centers Now Offering Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing

Staff Reports

On Thursday, Premier ER and Urgent Care announced they are capable of providing COVID-19 testing outside their Woodway, Temple, and San Marcos locations.

Patients can log in via the clinic’s websites, www.premier.care, and select a virtual visit with a physician for virtual screening.

After the visit, a member of the Premier team will contact patients to schedule a COVID-19 test. The service is provided as a drive-thru service, so patients do not have to get out of their car.

According to Premier, the test takes about five minutes to administer, and the results are returned to the clinic within 24 hours.

There is no copay for patients with insurance for the telemedicine visit; without insurance, the visit costs $49. Patients should also expect a $25 collection fee for testing. The fee for lab testing is billed to the insurance or patient separately.

Premier’s COVID-19 testing capabilities launched Thursday, April 23. Currently, testing is available from 10 AM to 2 PM. However, hours may be extended at a later date if necessary.

Paul Hamilton, Senior VP of Business Development said, “We have been contacted many times over the past few weeks to be able to offer COVID-19 testing for local and national businesses who want to get their employees cleared and back to work. We are excited to now have this option for them and our communities as a whole.”

In other news, All MedPost Urgent Care locations are also capable of providing COVID-19 testing.

MedPost Urgent Care is open 8 AM to 8 PM and is accepting patients for evaluation through walk-in, calls ahead, or scheduled appointments.

Masks are required for anyone entering the building; upon entry, everyone will be screened for symptoms and asked to put on a mask if symptomatic or accompanied by an individual who is symptomatic.

Those over the age of 18 who do not require the assistance of a caregiver are asked to enter alone. Only one parent or guardian should accompany a patient under the age of 18.
