SAN MARCOS, TX – A new Call for Art is being put out by the Price Center’s Arts Committee asking for works that feature faces and/or places. The new two-month show will serve as a companion to Christopher Paul Cardoza’s solo photography exhibit “Uniquely San Marcos, The Martian Chronicles,” which will feature intimate and engaging portraits of San Marcos citizens. Both shows will hang from Aug. 1 – Sep. 25.
“Faces & Places” is open to all area artists. All media will be accepted for the new show, and 2-3 pieces of artwork may be submitted on July 26 or 27 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. A $10 application fee applies, and the Price Center retains a 20% commission on any works sold.
“We’re excited to be bringing Christopher’s display to the Center after a few delays caused by COVID,” said Arts Committee Chair Joan Nagel. “The Face & Places show should be a nice compliment to it,” she added.
The Price Center’s current gallery show, “A Place for Art,” is a San Marcos Art League Member’s show that features a vibrant display of all types of media, subjects, and styles. The 62-piece show is open to the public daily and a Closing Reception featuring live music, refreshments, and in-person visits with many of the artists is slated for Thurs., July 22 from 6-8 p.m.
