Price Center Issues Newest Call For Art: San Marcos: A River Runs Through It

San Marcos, TX – Fresh on the heels of the successful opening event for its current art show, the Price Center’s newly formed Arts Committee is issuing a Call for Art for a new juried show.

“San Marcos: A River Runs Through It” will feature original artworks reflecting the broad diversity of imagery, cultures, and activities happening and/or inspired by the community of San Marcos – submissions do not specifically need to reflect the river itself.

The Call is open to all area artists who may submit up to two original works of art for this exhibit; 2-D work should be no larger than 24” x 36.” (There is space for a limited number of small to medium-sized 3-D pieces.)

This exhibition will run from August 10 through October 14. An artists’ reception will be held; date and time will be announced in the coming weeks. A $10 application fee for up to two submissions applies.

*ART DROP OFF: Monday, August 5, and Tuesday, August 6, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

*ART PICKUP: Monday, October 14, and Tuesday, October 15, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The current show, “2019 & Beyond: New Works by the San Marcos Art League,” featuring nearly 60 new works by more than 30 area artists, is hanging throughout the Center’s various Gallery Venues now through Aug. 5.

Gallery shows at the Price Center are made possible in part through grant fund from the San Marcos Arts Commission. Admission to the shows is free and galleries are open to the public daily from 9-5.

Many of the works are for sale and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Price Center, a 501 C-3 non-profit.

For more information about this Call for Art or other Price Center activities, please stop by the Price Center, at 222 W. San Antonio St. in Downtown San Marcos, Mon. – Fri., 9-5 p.m., call 512-392-2900 or visit price-center.org.
