San Marcos, TX – As hurricane recovery efforts continue all along the Texas coast, Florida and the Caribbean, many in Hays County want to do more to help. The Price Center is teaming up with local performer, director, and producer Lee Colee’, and The Salvation Army of Hays County to put on a Hurricane Harvey Benefit Concert Friday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Center’s historic 1910 Room.
“As a resident of Wimberley, I saw firsthand what it takes to rebuild and recover from a natural disaster after the Memorial Weekend Floods two years ago here,” said Colee’. “Everyone has a talent to bring to the recovery effort and in our case, we’re applying our performing talents to put on a show that will help boost everyone’s spirits and raise needed funds,” she added.
Colee’ produces many plays, recitals and an annual musical theater boot camp each summer at the Center. Her talent pool is large and she’s assembled her A-Team performers – many of whom are also Price Center regulars — to provide a mix of Patriotic, Inspirational, Gospel, Lounge and Jazz music along with a bit of Comedy and even some Dance for the high-energy show. Performers currently slated to take the stage include Colee’, Christopher and Erin Hanson, Linda Sriro with Destination, Kate Garrison and The Luis Parra Band.
“The need in Texas is staggering,” said Kathy McNeil, Director of The Salvation Army in Hays County. “Funds raised through this effort will go directly to support the relief efforts of The Salvation Army as we continue to serve the needs of those impacted by Hurricane Harvey along the Texas coastline,” she added.
Suggested donation is $25. Tickets will be limited to 120 seats, sold at the door, and available on a first come, first served basis.
