O
n November 1, 2018, at approximately 3:50 PM, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office and the Wimberley Fire Department responded to a reported propane truck that overturned at the intersection of Winters Mill Parkway and Ranch Road 12.

Upon the arrival of first responders, it was determined that the propane truck overturned while attempting to turn north onto Ranch Road 12 from Winters Mill Parkway. The driver was able to exit the truck and was not injured. No other vehicles were involved.

At this time southbound traffic on Ranch Road 12 towards Wimberley is being diverted onto Jacobs Well Road while northbound traffic on Ranch Road 12 is being turned around approximately one-quarter of a mile from the scene.

Winters Mill Parkway is closed at FM 3237 and no traffic is being permitted to exit Woodcreek Drive onto Ranch Road 12.

The HAZMAT team of the Wimberley Fire Department is also on scene as well as the Department of Public Safety. There is no evidence of any propane leakage at this time and no evacuations of residences have taken place.

Once attempts to upright the propane truck are initiated, the condition of the truck will be reevaluated. Should evacuations be deemed necessary by the Wimberley HAZMAT team, it would most likely effect less than ten residences within the Woodcreek area.

Although no firm determination can be made at this time, it is estimated that Ranch Road 12 at Winters Mill Parkway will be closed until approximately 8:00 PM.
