Public Invited To San Marcos Parks Master Plan Open House

“This come and go event will provide an opportunity for the community to review progress on the plan and to provide feedback on preliminary recommendations, said Assistant Director of Community Services Drew Wells.

The San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department is inviting the public to attend an Open House for the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan, Wed., May 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins.

“This come and go event will provide an opportunity for the community to review progress on the plan and to provide feedback on preliminary recommendations, said Assistant Director of Community Services Drew Wells. “We invite everyone to come be part of this of this event and help make this plan a success.”

City staff and representatives from Halff Associates, Inc., will be on hand to make a brief presentation and answer questions.

The Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan is currently in the design stages and adoption of the plan should occur by fall 2018 after presentation to the Parks Board and City Council.  The current Parks Master Plan was adopted in 2010.

This open house is the next public outreach opportunity for the community following meetings with key stakeholders in September 2017, a town hall meeting in November 2017 and an online survey available during October and November 2017.
