Rattler Robotics Brings Home Regional Trophy

Congratulations to the San Marcos High School robotics team for finishing 2nd at the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Alamo Regional.  The event was a three day long competition featuring 66 teams from 5 different countries.  FRC team 3679 (Rattlers of San Marcos, TX) teamed up with alliance partners of team 3005 (RoboChargers of Dallas, TX) and team 624 (CRyptonite of Katy, TX) and reached the finals of Saturday’s elimination playoff bracket.

Special thanks to the team’s sponsors: San Marcos CISD, FIRST in Texas, and the Texas Workforce Commission.

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school robotics competition. Each year, over 3000 teams of high school students and mentors work during a six-week period to design, build, program, and test their machines that can weigh up to 120 pounds. The game changes yearly, and this year’s game was Stronghold-a medieval themed castle capture game.  FIRST organizes four different competition programs for all grade levels(k-12).
