Free Tax Aid

AARP Volunteers prepare tax returns for local citizens

Volunteers from AARP will provide assistance to lower income, older, or disabled persons with filling out their income tax returns.
Tax aid is also available Mondays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Service is guaranteed to the first 50 signups each session. Signup no later than 30 minutes before end of session.

Taxpayers who utilize this free, walk-in service should bring a copy of last year’s income tax return, a social security card for themselves and all dependents, a photo ID, and any other tax-related information. E-filing is also offered and those who wish to have their refund direct deposited into their checking or savings account will need to bring a check or a letter from their bank including the bank routing number and account number.

The library also has a wide array of free tax forms for taxpayers to pick up. Some forms and publications have been delayed but those items will be made available as soon as they arrive. For further information, call the library at 512.393.8200 or inquire at the Information Desk.
