SANTA WILL LAND AT CTMC DEC. 3 TO HELP KICK OFF ANNUAL SIGHTS & SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – This year’s Sights & Sounds of Christmas activities will unofficially kick off Dec. 3 when Santa returns to Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) via a helicopter landing. CTMC invites area families and children of all ages to come enjoy this free event featuring hot chocolate, cookies, candy canes, musical entrainment, photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus and a free book for small children.

Festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m., and Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to land at the CTMC helipad at 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, the pair will spend approximately 30 minutes getting up close and personal with the crowd. At approximately 5:45 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will move to the stage to sit in large chairs and read The Night Before Christmas to attendees before flipping the giant switch to turn on the CTMC holiday lights. At 6:20, the pair will again board the helicopter and head to the Sights & Sounds opening events downtown.

The annual Sights & Sounds celebration, which will run Dec. 3 – 6 in downtown San Marcos, features the largest carnival to hit San Marcos, an ice skating rink, opportunities to take free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, arts and crafts from more than 30 local vendors, a diverse food court, pony rides, a Town of Bethlehem exhibit and two stages for live entertainment from local artists and community schools.
