Residents are invited to safely dispose of personal documents and records such as old tax returns, processed checks, loan applications, financial reports and other papers that include Social Security or banking and credit card account numbers.
“Identity theft is real concern these days and many people are aware that they should dispose of sensitive records in a way that ensures that others cannot gain possession or misuse the information,” said Jamie Lee Case, San Marcos City Clerk. “This event helps with home records management and safely disposes of personal information.”
All the documents will be shredded on site. Volunteers will be available to help unload material from vehicles. For more information, call the City Clerk’s office at 512-393-8090.
